EVENING PRIMROSE

Native to North America, and actually now regarded as a noxious weed, Evening Primrose was used thousands of years ago by the first North American Indians and early settlers, who recognized the potential medicinal value of this plant. It was used for a range of conditions, from coughs to gastrointestinal upsets and bruises.

Today, the oil from the seeds of Evening Primrose is extracted and widely used for inner health and cosmetics. The reason for such use is the seeds' high content of gamma-linolenic acid, an Omega 6 essential fatty acid that is extremely nourishing to the skin and reportedly powerful hormone regulator.

Evening Primrose seed oil is highly moisturizing and helps clear blemishes, soothe irritations and soften wrinkles that are exaggerated by dehydration of the skin. It also aids and supports the repair and regeneration of skin tissue and promotes soft, supple, revitalized skin.
