GREEN TEA

Green Tea comes from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, a Chinese native tea plant cultivated extensively throughout Asia, Africa and South America for use in very popular beverages.

In recent years, green tea, used both internally and topically, has become a valued anti-aging product. Studies have shown that Green Tea contains the highest concentration of polyphenols (antioxidants) of all of the teas from the Camellia species. In addition, Green Tea is a rich source of B vitamins and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C).

In addition, tea contains a very high content of caffeine (between 10 and 60 percent of that of coffee). Caffeine is easily absorbed into the skin and is a vasocontrictor, so it can help to reduce the symptomatic redness of rosacea, sunburn and irritation, and temporarily lighten under-eye puffiness caused by dilated blood vessels.
